Assembly Tools

At present the tools offer basic functionality for arranging parts. These will evolve in future to support more complete support.

Figure below shows the toolbar displayed to manipulate parts in an assembly

Assembly toolbar becomes visible when you open an assembly for editing.
You can switch to part design mode by simply making a part active in the feature tree

How to use tools

    Move Tool
  • Select one ore more parts/sub-assemblies to move
  • Click on the 'Select Direciton' Button, and choose a face or an edge to select direction
  • Start dragging selected part
  • When drag stops, a dialog pops up to allow you enter final value
  • Click on green check button to accept the change and continue, or click on the orange 'X' to close the dialog
    Rotate Tool
  • Select one ore more parts/sub-assemblies to rotate
  • Select rotation axis
  • Either use the slider or enter the angle directly in the text box
  • Click on green check button to accept the change and continue, or click on the orange 'X' to close the dialog
    Snap Tool
  • Select one ore more parts/sub-assemblies to rotate
  • Select 'Snap To'
  • Then choose the target part with respect to whom 'Snap To' will be interpreted.
  • Click on green check button to accept the change and continue, or click on the orange 'X' to close the dialog
    Align Tool
  • Select one ore more parts/sub-assemblies to move
  • Choose one of Quick Align option
  • Select the alignment direction
  • Click on green check button to accept the change and continue, or click on the orange 'X' to close the dialog
Assembly Script - The assembly script is an advanced option and will be available in future release.
